Mom and I had to go to Vancouver to visit the Alzheimer’s clinic at UBC.  After the that appointment I thought to make the trip a bit more fun we would travel on to Victoria for the spring flowers.  Packing was no longer easy for Mom so we did it together.   She watched as I confidently packed a bag.  A chore she had done countless times for me when I was a child. No worries Mom I got this!

On arrival in Victoria I had booked a charming B and B where the first floor was actually the second floor up a steep flight of steps!  Good job Marlene!  Mom steadied herself and tackled the stairs with a deep breath.

We both slept quite well and after showering we were ready to dress for the day.  Mom, “Did you pack undies for me?” Oh, crap I had forgotten that one item of clothing.  So much for being the expert.  I still needed my mother to remind me to pack clean underwear.  “No worries Mom, Use a pair of mine.  They are stretchy and we can shop for you today.”  The image of my undies halfway up her hips and the two of us howling with laughter will be forever with me. Thank you Mom for all the great memories you have given me.
